New York City Study

As the 7-8s think about themselves and their families, they then turn and think about the city in which they live and begin with the question, “What does a city need?” Through the discussions and the interests of the group, the 7-8s explore the various aspects of New York City and what is essential in order to make it function. Students focus on the physical features of the city, including boroughs, rivers, bridges, and tunnels, as they create their own maps, and investigate the many different family cultures and the various neighborhoods in which they all live.
