The admissions team at Manhattan Country School is here to support and guide each family through the rolling admissions process. To help familiarize yourself with the process, the admissions steps and details are outlined per grade level above.

During rolling admissions we invite applications based on grade openings and sliding scale tuition availability.

  • Submit a Preliminary Application

    • Submit your Family Profile Form as soon as possible.
    • Follow the process to create a MyMCS account in order to access your admissions checklist.
    • Complete the Preliminary Application Form on MyMCS.
    • Wait for a notification from our Admissions Office about our availability to move forward with your application.
  • Submit an Application

    You will be able to move forward with this part of the process if our school has availability in the grade you request.
    • After you have been invited to do so, submit an Application Form via MyMCS.
    • If applicable, complete a Sliding Scale Tuition Application via Clarity.
    • Prepare to gather all required materials, and upload or request the through your admissions checklist on MyMCS.
    • Check your email as the MCS Admissions Office will communicate with you this way.
    • Reach out if you have any questions for us or would like to follow up.
  • Sliding Scale Tuition Application

    MCS does not have a financial aid program, rather, we operate on a sliding scale tuition model. Please click here for more details. 
  • Child Assessment and Parent Interview

    After you have submitted your application and supporting materials, our admissions office will contact you to schedule a child visit. The child assessment is a way for us to engage with your child, get to know them, and ascertain school readiness.

    We are not able to schedule appointments until we receive the Teacher Confidential form and/or school reports (depending on the grade you are applying to.)
  • Teacher Confidential Report

    Please request that your child’s current preschool or school to fill out the Teacher Confidential Report appropriate to the grade you are applying to. You can send the request to your child’s teacher via the checklist in your admissions portal. 
    The Confidential Report must be filled out by your child's teacher and must be submitted directly by them to MCS. We will not accept forms submitted by parents/caregivers.
  • Optional but Recommended - Visit MCS

  • Admissions Decision

    Once all elements of the application have been submitted and visits completed, please allow a week for MCS to share the admissions decision.
  • Enrollment Contracts & Deposit

    If a family has been offered admission, the enrollment contract and 25% deposit are due one week after the school has notified the family.
