7th & 8th Grade Science: Anatomy & Homeostasis

In the 7th and 8th grade study of biology, students have been learning about human anatomy at work. Collaborating in teams, students integrated science, the arts, and writing to demonstrate their understanding of the human body systems and how they work together to maintain and regulate homeostasis.  Students chose from the following project options:
  • Poem: Develop a set of poems that give life and character through the use of figurative language and imagery of the body systems.
  • Writing: Compose a creative story or informative article that describes the functions of its structures from start to finish. Accompany your writing with a diagram that highlights the structures of the body systems
  • Comic: Create a comic strip that portrays the different diseases and/or health conditions as the villians and how a body's system works to protect it.
