No disposable plates, cups or cutlery will be provided.

The Farm’s Compost system cannot accept compostable tableware, etc. Therefore remember to bring your own REUSABLES, including water bottles!

Join us on Saturday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., for Manhattan Country School's annual community picnic at the MCS Farm!

What is Farm Outing Day?

Farm Outing Day is a day-long picnic for MCS families, friends, staff and alumni at the MCS Farm in the Catskills. The day features food, live music, games, hay rides, and fun for the entire family! The day is coordinated and staffed by fifth grade parent volunteers.

How to get there:

By bus: Transportation is available for MCS families. The bus will leave 85th Street at 8 a.m. and leave the MCS Farm at 4 p.m. The ride is about 3 hours long.The cost to ride the bus is $35 per person. Click here to purchase seats on the bus!

By car: Please note cell service is weak up in this part of the Catskills, and often, after exiting I-87 onto Route NY-28 W, GPS loses track. Note these printable directions and keep them handy just in case. They are also helpful when leaving the farm!

Food and Refreshments:

Purchase an all-access food pass to have unlimited access to our homemade paella (traditional and vegetarian options), wood-fired pizza, roasted pork and lamb, burgers, hot dogs, and a buffet of scratch-made vegetarian and vegan sides and condiments, as well as a full selection of incredible desserts from 9-10s families, Levain, and Bon Bon.

The bar will offer local beer from and cider on tap, as well as wine and non-alcoholic offerings.

Key Info:

Pets are not allowed at the MCS Farm.
Kids should bring water shoes and towels for playing in the stream.
We suggest families bring a picnic blanket, towels, bathing suits and a change of clothes for children.
Farm Outing Day is a zero waste event; please bring reusable plates, cups, utensils and water bottles from home to help us reduce waste.
