Thank you to the entire MCS community for making the 2021 Farm Festival a success! The energy on 85th Street was vibrant and joyful! From current families to alumni, entertainers, and passersby, an amazing time was had by all. Saturday was such a powerful reminder of what our community looks and feels like at our best. I hope you are all still reveling in the good vibes from what was an indisputably great day!
Farm Festival would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the 6-7s families along with volunteers from other grades too. As we’ve said before, it takes many hands and several sleepless nights to pull an event like this together. Organizing Farm Festival is no small feat, especially this year. With a condensed planning period, new health and safety protocols due to COVID, and our first in-person community event post-pandemic, the 6-7s, led by co-chairs Joy Davis Fair, Michelle Montgomery, and Bonita Thompson, Farm Festival had one of its most successful years ever!
With sales from the Farm Stand, Marketplace, Merch/Swag, Tickets, and Raffles, and the proceeds from the Online Auction, this year’s Farm Festival has so far raised over $118,000.
We are incredibly grateful to all of the parents and community members who purchased raffle tickets, provided entertainment, donated to the auction, and joined us on October 16.
Our community is filled with generosity, creativity, talent, and can-do spirit. Together, we showed how we support our children and our school. What a day it was and what a community this is!
