Summer Programs

City Camp runs for three weeks in July, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 2020 program runs from July 6 to July 24.

Two days a week, City Camp uses MCS classrooms and local community resources, including Central Park and the Urban Assembly Community Garden, to provide enriching activities. Kids attend classes including movement, visual arts, gardening and a city class aimed at developing a deeper connection with New York City.

The other three days each week, City Campers go on trips to explore the city, including one trip a week to a local pool. Past trip destinations have included the Bronx Zoo, Museum of Natural History, Children’s Museum of the Arts, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Museum of the Moving Image and the High Line.

Plan ahead and save! Sign up by March 13 and pay $1,650 for all three weeks or $550 for individual weeks. After March 13, prices increase to $1,800 for three weeks or $600 for individual weeks. New this year: Save an additional $50 per child when you enroll siblings! Registration ends May 29, 2020.

Farm Camp runs for three weeks in July. 2020 Farm Camp runs from July 6 - July 24.

Campers participate in a host of activities at the MCS Farm. They tend the gardens; care for the animals (chickens, cows, pigs and sheep); explore fields, mountains and streams; bake pizza in our outdoor wood-fired oven; prepare ice cream with the Farm’s own naturally raised eggs, milk and yogurt; and prepare meals with our own beef, pork and chicken and organic vegetables.

Excursions include swimming at a nearby lake, going on an overnight campout, and visiting a roller skating rink, a water park, the Clark Sports Center and nearby museums.

Farm Camp is operated by the MCS Farm staff, the Farm Camp teacher, our Farm-based education intern and an MCS Farm alumni intern.

Like MCS' student tuition, rates for Farm Camp are calculated on a sliding scale. 2020 Farm Camp rates are available in the Farm Camp application.
