Harris Friess ‘98

A member of the Class of 1998, Harris Friess went on to attend Riverdale Country School. During those years he was deeply involved with Los Chavalitos, an orphanage and school in Nicaragua founded by former MCS teacher Alejandro Obando. Following graduation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006, Harris began a career selling and renovating properties in Brooklyn. In 2009, Harris and his brother Lyle ‘00, also an MCS alum, founded the Brooklyn Youth Sports Club  (BKYSC), a non-profit organization that uses basketball as a hook to engage underserved Brooklyn youth in academic support and college preparatory programs. Since then Brooklyn Youth Sports Club has expanded their programs and opened an additional 20,000 square foot athletic and event space called The Post BK.
