MCS En Casa 2.0 Begins!

The start of the school year always marks new beginnings. The 2020-2021 school year is no different, except that everything is so different this year! We are learning how to navigate our new reality, synchronous and asynchronous learning, Google Classroom, MyMCS and Seesaw. We are learning how to build upon an already strong community while we work and learn remotely. We are welcoming new families and members of the faculty and staff. There has been a lot of “new” this year, and MCS has remained true to its values while we adjust to the new way of “going to school.”

Whether on Zoom in morning meetings, or socially distanced at the meet-ups in the park or at last Sundays’ parent-led march, MCS families and students came together, as we always do,for the first week of school. Our incredibly committed staff has been working hard to develop plans that will engage your child’s curiosity and inspire deep learning. Teachers are creating opportunities to build community and connection within our remote format. Children will also have time to connect with one another.

As we continue En Casa 2.0, there will surely be more challenges and unpredictable moments. But there will be new opportunities as well; opportunities for growth and community, learning and creativity, and compassion and communication. We are excited for the 2020-2021 school year and look forward to learning and growing with all of you this year.
