We are pleased and excited to announce that the Board of Trustees has chosen Corey Blay to serve as our next Director. Like our founders, Gus and Marty Trowbridge, and Michèle Solá, who has been our leader for more than two decades, Corey has a deep belief in the power of an inclusive education to create a better world for everyone. Corey will formally join MCS in July 2020, and we expect he will be a regular presence at school and at MCS events between now and then. Read more

October 31 is an exciting day for many children. We believe it is important to maintain our well-established routines during the school day to provide consistency and balance for our students. Therefore, children may not wear costumes or masks or bring candy to school as it would be a disruption to their day. We appreciate your understanding and help with this.   Thank you for helping Manhattan Country School school sustain a happy equilibrium. Read more
On Friday, October 25, faculty and staff boarded the bus and headed to Roxbury to spend the day at the Farm. Staff Workshop Day at the Farm is a long-standing biannual tradition to bring together city and farm staff for community building and strategic work. The day began with a tour of the new farm property at Lower Meeker Hollow, followed by farmwork and chores. Working together in ways students do at the Farm gave staff a chance to get to know each other, whether or not they accompany farm trips. From cooking lunch and apple cider pressing to tapestry weaving and planting garlic, faculty and staff had a productive morning.  Read more
