Photo of the Week

Seventh grade students work on autobiographies for months. To celebrate the completion of their stories, students share a chapter from their book with parents and peers. This year topics included favorite places to visit,experiences with immigration and particular people and relationships that have shaped their lives. Students grow as creative writers while exploring different aspects of their identity through this project.

Manhattan Country School’s Technology Teacher Paul Williams was selected by The Academy of Teachers to participate in a master class led by social media expert Sree Sreenivasan. Master classes offer a rare opportunity for public and private school teachers to work together and learn from a leading expert in their field. Read more
Every year at this time we prepare to say goodbye to a few members of the Manhattan Country School community and welcome some new members in the fall. This year some long-time members of the MCS community will be leaving us and we hope you'll join us as we wish them well on their next chapters.  Read more
The high school placement process has many different meanings for MCS students and families. Cynthia Rogers, High School Placement Director, specializes in cultivating relationships with high school admissions directors, maintaining personal contact with MCS alumni in high school and building 1-on-1 relationships with eighth graders who will come to understand what they can expect during their upcoming application processes while staying true to themselves - no matter who they are.  Read more

Manhattan Country School’s Farm Outing Day, a community picnic for MCS families (including new families joining the school in the fall), alumni and friends at our 180-acre farm in the Catskill Mountains, will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Enjoy hay rides, hay jumping, music and tours of the MCS Farm at New Kingston Mountain. From 2-3:30 pm, you will have an opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the MCS Farm at Lower Meeker Hollow (the new farm property acquired in 2017) and learn about the expanding farm program.  Read more
Some changes have been made regarding childcare for evening and weekend events at Manhattan Country School. In order for us to safely provide childcare for MCS evening and weekend events, we ask that you adhere to the following set of guidelines. Read more
City Camp is Manhattan Country School's summer program for MCS students in the 4-5s through 9-10s, including new Lower School students joining the school in the fall. During City Camp, students broaden their MCS experience by being immersed in fun and engaging activities aligned with the school’s mission and values. Read more
