Agricultural technology has been evolving for thousands of years. While we may not think of a horse- or oxen-drawn plow as technology, this invention from the 1700’s revolutionized farming in America. When threshing machines, refrigeration, and other factory-made equipment appeared in the early 1800’s, it not only changed the farming landscape, but created a need for farmers to have cash for purchase. MCS alumnus Lee Gelernt ’75 is one of the most influential immigrant rights' lawyers in the U.S. Since joining the ACLU in 1992, Gelernt has argued dozens of civil rights cases at all levels of the federal court system, including the U.S. Supreme Court. This year, all of the products are made by students, including soaps and bath bombs. Please come to support the 8-9s as they gain firsthand experience on how to operate a business! Read more
