In January, the 4-5s began their Baby Study curriculum.  The Baby Study is the children’s first step to understanding history and there is no better place to start than to take a look at their own histories from birth to age four or five.  4-5s head teacher Sarah Leibowits began developing this unit in 1994, the year she began teaching the 4-5s.  She inherited the basic idea of the baby study from the previous teacher, and has expanded upon it over the past two decades.  Now, both Sarah and Paulo Arango, the other 4-5s head teacher, teach this curriculum annually to their students. Lavender Oatmeal Soap
On Friday, February 1, the 8-9s opened La Tienda for the first time this year. Starting on that day, La Tienda will run on most Friday mornings from 8:30-9:00 in the third floor flex space. Leading up to the opening, the 8-9s were hard at work preparing — practicing their math facts, making products to sell, setting prices, and making signs to hang around the school. Read more

The Manhattan Country School JV Boys’ and Girls’ basketball teams experienced what it's like to play like the pros! The teams played back-to-back games against City & Country School at the Barclays Center last Tuesday, February 5.  Coach Jermaine Lloyd led both teams to victory. The girls’ team was up first and immediately took the lead. The final score was 20-12.  The boy’s team easily won with a final score of 21-2.  Lots of MCS parents and siblings filled the stands to cheer the teams on. Read more

City Camp is Manhattan Country School's summer program for MCS students in the 4-5s through 9-10s, including new Lower School students joining the school in the fall. During City Camp, students broaden their MCS experience by being immersed in fun and engaging activities aligned with the school’s mission and values. Read more
