2018 Spring Concert
Manhattan Country School’s 2018 Spring Concert, titled “Beautiful Dreamers,” was dedicated to MCS Founder Gus Trowbridge and all the dreamers striving to make a change in the world. The program featured an impressive collection of inspiring songs. Read more

At the eighth annual Social Justice Data Fair, on Thursday, May 31, 2018, Manhattan Country School sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders showcased the work they’ve done using math to explore social justice issues. Read more
Founders' Day Assembly
Founders’ Week kicked off on Monday, May 21 with a first-of-its-kind assembly dedicated to MCS Founder Gus Trowbridge. Students, faculty and staff gathered in the gym for a tribute to Gus and his wife, Marty Trowbridge, and the school they founded. Marty was a special guest at the event, accompanied by daughters Katharine Trowbridge Carroll and Mary Trowbridge (MCS’ Lower School Director). The sixth-graders, who were at the Farm that week, participated via Zoom video conference. Read more

On Saturday, May 19, 2018, 12 student delegates from Manhattan Country School attended the Middle School Model Congress at Packer Collegiate Institute in downtown Brooklyn. Read more

It’s often difficult to describe a typical Manhattan Country School Farm trip. There are only so many superlatives one can use to explain the authentic work and learning students experience. The recent sixth-grade spring trip was jam-packed with special activities, visitors and new experiences. Let’s not forget, the kids also had a farm to operate. Read more

2018 Farm Outing Day

Neighborhood News to Know: 86 St Subway Station Closing

On Monday, June 4, 2018, the 86 Street B/C station will close for extensive renovations. The B and C trains (and A overnight) will skip 86th Street in both directions starting at 5 a.m on Monday and will continue to do so until October 2018. Alternatives include:

  • the B/C station at 81 Street-Museum of Natural History or 96th Street, or the Broadway 1 station.
  • the M10 bus along Central Park West; transfer with MetroCard to the B/C (A overnight) at 96 St, 81 St or 59 St
  • the M86 SBS to connect with the 1 line at the 86 St station

Please plan to adjust your route to and from Manhattan Country School accordingly.
