Manhattan Country School alumni came out to show their support at the 2017 Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative March on Monday, January 16.

More than 350 people gathered at New York City’s Riverside Church on Monday to kick off Manhattan Country School’s 29th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative March. Organized by the school’s eighth-graders, this event is one way the MCS community honors the slain civil rights leader who served as an inspiration for the school's founding. Read more
MLK Assembly
On Friday, January 13, Manhattan Country School held two assemblies to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A morning assembly, for children in the 4-5s through 7-8s and their families, opened with grownups singing "This Little Light of Mine" as the children entered the room. The sixth-graders presented an abbreviated version of their play "Black Lives Matter: The Journey to Freedom." Read more
On Friday, March 17, Manhattan Country School eighth-graders will spend the morning at the workplaces of professionals around the city. During our annual Eighth Grade Mentoring Day, MCS alumni, parents and other members of the community host students as they explore potential careers. Each eighth-grader will be matched with a professional working in a field in which they have expressed interest. During these visits, students have the opportunity to experience the environment, observe their mentor at work, ask questions that could help them shape their career aspirations, and oftentimes have hands-on involvement.   Thank you to everyone who supported Manhattan Country School during the 2015-2016 school year. Last year, 83 alumni donated to the MCS Fund (FKA the Annual Fund) for a total exceeding $54,000. During the same school year, former MCS parents from approximately 150 families donated over $123,000 to the MCS Fund. Read more
