Debo P. Adegbile, a member of Manhattan Country School’s Class of 1980 and an MCS honorary trustee, has been appointed by President Barack Obama to a six-year post on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. In this role, Debo will lead the development of national civil rights policy and enhance enforcement of federal civil rights laws. We are excited to announce that registration is open for City Camp Summer 2017!  Sign up by March 15 to take advantage of early bird pricing! City Camp is MCS’ summer program for children in the 4-5s through 9-10s, including new Lower School students joining the school in the fall. City Camp runs for three weeks, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily.  In 2017, City Camp will operate at MCS from July 10-28. Teresa Edwards, one of the most decorated players in basketball, has joined Manhattan Country School as a coach for the winter and spring team sports seasons. Teresa, who goes by the name T, is working with MCS coaches Lee Solomon and Jermaine Lloyd and our varsity and junior varsity basketball and track and field teams. Thanks to the generosity of the Manhattan Country School community, we exceeded our #GivingTuesday goal of raising $50,000. We received close to $75,000 in #GivingTuesday online contributions and checks from those who participated by mail are still coming in. This is more than twice the amount we received in 2015. We more than doubled the number of donors—from 145 to 320–as well. To date, 48 percent of current families have given to The MCS Fund. We are well on our way to reaching our goal... Read More

We are pleased to announce that Nehemiah Luckett has joined Manhattan Country School in the role of piano accompanist. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Nehemiah began singing in choirs at the age of five. He attended Sarah Lawrence College and the City College of New York and has been leading and accompanying choirs for more than 20 years. Manhattan Country School is happy to welcome Joe Paine, assistant cook, to the MCS community. Joe began on Monday, October 17, just two days after moving to New York City from North Haven, Maine. Joe is an experienced cook who grew up working in restaurants in and around Portland, Maine.
