Harris Friess ‘98

Harris was born in New York City where he attended the Manhattan Country School from the 5-6’s through 8th grade. He graduated from  Riverdale Country School in 2002 and enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he graduated in 2006. During his high school years, Harris was deeply involved with Los Chavalitos, an orphanage and school in Nicaragua founded by former MCS teacher Alejandro Obando. After graduating from Wisconsin, he began a career selling and renovating properties in Brooklyn. During this time, Harris and his brother Lyle founded the Brooklyn Youth Sports Club, a non-profit organization that uses basketball as a hook to engage underserved Brooklyn youth in academic support and college preparatory programs. Brooklyn Youth Sports Club recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary.  Recently, Harris has opened a 20,000 square foot athletic and event space in Brooklyn called The Post BK.
