Farm Festival is Saturday, October 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organized and staffed by MCS parents, this annual street fair and community fundraiser features family-friendly entertainment including rides, games, crafts, an online auction, a raffle, great food and live music. This will be our last Farm Festival on East 96th Street, so we expect a larger alumni turnout than ever before!
There will be an alumni table set up in front of the school, as well as alumni-led tours of the school throughout the day. Please be sure to stop by the table when you arrive at Farm Festival.
Winners need not be present at the time of drawing! All winners will be contacted on October 19.
Day of Volunteer Shifts
We are still in need of some more alumni to volunteer for a one-hour shift the day of Farm Festival. These volunteers will assist in a variety of ways including staffing the games/crafts tables and greeting visitors at the alumni table. If you’re available to volunteering for a 30-60 minute shift, please email email@example.com or check in at the alumni table when you arrive.
The 2015 Farm Festival auction opens for bidding on Wednesday, October 14 and will run through the end of the day on Wednesday, October 28! From Carnegie Hall tickets to 25 live lobsters to a pair of beautiful quartz & silver earrings, there is a wide variety of items and experiences you can win!
Do you knit or make anything else by hand? Would you like to donate items to the Handmade Crafts Table at Farm Festival? If so, please contact Nancy Hsu at firstname.lastname@example.org or bring your donations to the alumni table.
Do you bake? Would you like to contribute baked goods to the Farm Stand? Examples of items sold in previous years include cookies, brownies, loaves, pies, cakes and other specialties. If you would like to provide baked goods for the Farm Stand, please contact Nancy Hsu at email@example.com or bring your food to the Farm Stand.
Share Your MCS Memories at Farm Festival
As we celebrate our final year in our home at 7 East 96th Street, we are asking everyone who has passed through our courtyard doors over the past 49 years to reflect on their MCS experience. We want to collect these stories and have created an MCS Memory Book for our community members to share their fondest remembrances, favorite stories and hopes and wishes for MCS in the future. The MCS Memory Book will be on display in the Living Room at Farm Festival this weekend. Please stop by and contribute to the narrative of MCS’ first 50 years. This collection of reflections will be on display in our new home on West 85th Street as a way of carrying our history forward with us into the future. If you’re not able to join us for Farm Festival, we invite you to submit an MCS Memory Book submission by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
