Fifth-Graders Host Egyptian Marketplace

Friday, June 17, 2016

On Tuesday, June 14, Manhattan Country School fifth-graders transformed the library and 7-8s classroom into an Egyptian Marketplace. Parents, teachers and students were invited to participate in games and activities to learn about the practices of ancient Egyptians—a topic the fifth-graders spent several weeks studying as part of their social studies curriculum. The fifth-graders created murals to decorate the marketplace walls and got into character by crafting their own Egyptian ensembles.
