Faculty and Staff Head to the Farm for Staff Workshop Day
On Friday, October 25, faculty and staff boarded the bus and headed to Roxbury to spend the day at the Farm. Staff Workshop Day at the Farm is a long-standing biannual tradition to bring together city and farm staff for community building and strategic work. The day began with a tour of the new farm property at Lower Meeker Hollow, followed by farmwork and chores. Working together in ways students do at the Farm gave staff a chance to get to know each other, whether or not they accompany farm trips. From cooking lunch and apple cider pressing to tapestry weaving and planting garlic, faculty and staff had a productive morning.
After lunch, faculty and staff split into groups for discussion sessions on topics including the Farm Expansion, Gender Inclusivity and Farm/City Connections from Faculty and Staff:
Jermaine, upper school athletics and lower school movement teacher said, "It was a great day; it's the first time this year we got to come together with the farm staff. It's always nice to roll up your sleeves with your colleagues and support one another."
