Carrie Davis discusses Gender Identity at the Parents' Association Meeting
A group of parents gathered on Thursday, November 7, for a Parents' Association Meeting on Gender Identity with Carrie Davis, NYC Human Rights Commissioner. Carrie's interactive presentation allowed parents to gain a better understanding of non-binary gender identities.
MCS has a longstanding tradition of fostering conversations about changes in the world with our entire community. Earlier this fall, Carrie Davis led a training for faculty and staff to facilitate a better understanding of non-binary gender identities. MCS directors thought this training was important to share with the broader community as we all work to better understand and support our transgender and gender non-conforming friends, family members, students and coworkers.
The night began with a discussion about current trends in gender identity and best practices for addressing these issues at home and at school.
We want to thank Carrie for facilitating an informative and thorough conversation.
