Step 2: Submit an Application

Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are now open for the 2020-2021 school year. You can submit an application here.

4-5s and 5-6s (Pre-K and K)

Applications for the 4-5s or 5-6s are due on or before December 1. We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

6-7s (First Grade) Through Seventh Grade

We accept applications for children entering the 6-7s through seventh grade on a rolling basis. Please call the Admissions Office at (212) 348-0952 if you have specific questions regarding your child’s class placement.

Step 3: Attend a Playgroup Session or Child Visit

4-5s and 5-6s (Pre-K and K)

Each child will be invited to attend a playgroup. Playgroups will be scheduled throughout the Fall and, for our youngest applicants, into early January. Adults will meet together informally with a member of the administration while their children are engaged in a small playgroup with members of the admissions committee. Only one adult is required to attend.

6-7s (First Grade) Through Seventh Grade

Children applying to the 6-7s through seventh grade will be asked to attend a child visit based on enrollment and attrition.

Step 4: Request a School Report

If your child is in a school setting (nursery, preschool, daycare, co-op, etc.), please speak to your child’s current school director about submitting a confidential school report. These forms are due January 8, 2020 for the 4-5s and 5-6s.

Step 5: Complete the Family Financial Worksheet

In our sliding-scale model, families submit a confidential Family Financial Worksheet (FFW) to determine their tuition. Please note a deposit of 25% is due shortly after acceptance and families can chose from three different payment plans.

Please scan and e-mail the FFW to admissions@manhattancountryschool.org. If you prefer, you are welcome to mail the form to us.

We encourage you to contact the Admissions Office with any questions regarding tuition or the FFW.

Step 6: Standardized Assessments

MCS does not require formal assessments for applicants to the 4-5s, 5-6s or 6-7s.

For more information about testing requirements for older applicants, please contact the Admissions Office.
