Wednesday morning, 4-5s and 5-6s parents filled the Music Room to sing with Manhattan Country School’s two youngest classes. The annual 4-5s and 5-6s Sing is an opportunity for families to be introduced to their child’s music program as well as get a sense of how community is created through singing together.
In keeping with the school’s mission, the children sang social justice songs, folks songs and children’s songs from around the world. While moving to music, the 4-5s and 5-6s impressed us with their sensitivity to musical nuance and their rhythmic expressiveness. Such happy music-making for such young children!
