Farm Camp is MCS’ summer program for current students in the 9-10s through eighth grade at the Manhattan Country School Farm in Roxbury, New York.
When is Farm Camp?
Farm Camp runs for three weeks in July. 2017 Farm Camp runs from July 10th - July 28th.
What will kids do at Farm Camp?
Campers participate in a host of activities at the MCS Farm. Examples include farm chores and gardening; baking pizza in our outdoor wood-fired oven; preparing ice cream with the Farm’s own naturally raised eggs, milk and yogurt; and preparing meals with beef from our grass-fed cows and organic vegetables.
For recreation, campers take part in daily activities such as swimming, an overnight camp out and weekend trips to Zoom Flume, the Clark Sports Center, a minor league baseball game and museums.
Who works at Farm Camp?
Farm Camp is operated by the MCS Farm staff (John, Donna, Ed and Cathy), the Farm Camp teacher, the farm-based education intern and the MCS Farm alumni intern.
What is the cost of Farm Camp?
Like MCS' student tuition, rates for Farm Camp are calculated on a sliding scale. 2017 Farm Camp rates will be available in Spring 2017.
How do I register my child for Farm Camp?
Download and submit the Farm Camp application.
Enrollment is limited to 20 students who are selected according to their expressed interest and their participation during school farm trips.
