Farm Camp
Each summer MCS Farm Camp is open to students from the 9-10s through the 8th grade. Enrollment is limited to 20 students who will be selected according to their expressed interest and their participation during school farm trips.
The 2013 program will run for three weeks, from Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 26that the MCS Farm in Roxbury, NY. Campers participate in farm chores and gardening, baking pizza in our outdoor wood-fired oven, preparing ice cream with the Farm’s own naturally-raised eggs, milk and yogurt, and preparing meals from our grass-fed beef and organic vegetables.

For recreation, campers take part in daily activities such as swimming, an overnight campout, and weekend trips to Zoom Flume, the Clark Sports Center, a minor league baseball game and museums.
Farm Camp is operated by the Farm staff: Ginny, Ed, Donna, John and Cathy, plus the Farm-Based Education Intern and Farm Camp Teacher.
A number of spaces at Farm Camp are available to MCS students at a reduced fee, based on family financial circumstances. There are a limited number of spaces during the first week of camp, from July 9 through July 15, for students who can only attend one week.
MCS graduates in grades 11 and 12 may apply to be the MCS Farm Alum Intern who helps supervise campers with their jobs and aids the Farm Camp staff on field trips and campouts. To apply for the internship, contact Ginny at the MCS Farm at 607-326-7049 or e-mail gscheer@manhattancountryschool.org.
